Google API Services Usage Disclosure
How Wabot accesses and uses Google API services, including Contacts, Calendar, Sheets, and Drive, and the safeguards we apply.
Wabot's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
01Google API Scopes We Request
Wabot requests access to the following Google API services. Each scope is requested only when you explicitly connect the corresponding integration.
Google Contacts API
Syncing and managing contact data
Data We Access
- Contact names, email addresses, and phone numbers
- Contact groups and labels
- Contact metadata (creation and modification dates)
Why We Need It
Wabot uses Google Contacts to sync your contact list with the Wabot CRM, enabling you to manage WhatsApp conversations alongside your existing contacts and automate outreach based on contact segments.
Google Calendar API
Scheduling and event management
Data We Access
- Calendar event titles, dates, and times
- Event attendees and descriptions
- Calendar availability information
Why We Need It
Wabot integrates with Google Calendar to enable automated appointment scheduling, event reminders via WhatsApp, and calendar-triggered automation workflows within the chatbot builder.
Google Sheets API
Reading and writing spreadsheet data
Data We Access
- Spreadsheet cell values and formatting
- Sheet names and structure
- Named ranges and data ranges
Why We Need It
Wabot reads from and writes to Google Sheets as part of automation actions — for example, logging form submissions, updating lead databases, or pulling dynamic content for broadcast campaigns.
Google Drive API
File access and storage
Data We Access
- File names, types, and metadata
- File content for selected documents
- Folder structure for authorized directories
Why We Need It
Wabot accesses Google Drive to retrieve files for WhatsApp media sharing, store chatbot knowledge base documents, and manage file attachments within automation workflows.
02How We Use Your Data
Data obtained through Google APIs is used exclusively to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Wabot platform features you have explicitly enabled.
- Sync your Google data with Wabot CRM, automation, and chatbot modules as configured by you.
- Execute automation workflows that you have created and activated.
- Display relevant information within the Wabot dashboard for your use.
- Troubleshoot technical issues when you request support (with your consent).
03Limited Use Disclosure
In accordance with Google's Limited Use requirements, Wabot commits to the following:
Provide or improve user-facing features
We only use Google API data to provide and improve features that are visible and useful to you within the Wabot platform. We do not use this data for any purpose unrelated to the functionality you have enabled.
No transfer for advertising
We do not use or transfer Google API data to serve advertisements, including retargeting, personalized, or interest-based advertising.
No unauthorized human access
We do not allow humans to read your Google API data unless: (a) we have your explicit consent, (b) it is necessary for security purposes (e.g., investigating abuse), (c) it is required to comply with applicable law, or (d) our use is limited to internal operations with aggregated and anonymized data.
No AI/ML training on non-personalized models
We do not use Google API data for developing or training generalized (non-personalized) artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
04Data Security
We take the security of your Google data seriously. Our commitments include:
- All data transmitted between Wabot and Google APIs is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+.
- Google API tokens and credentials are stored encrypted at rest and are never exposed in logs or client-side code.
- Access to Google API data within our systems is restricted to authorized services on a need-to-know basis.
- We conduct regular security reviews of our Google API integration.
- We promptly revoke and rotate credentials if any security incident is detected.
05Your Rights
You have full control over your Google data within Wabot. You can:
- Revoke Wabot's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account Permissions page.
- Request deletion of any Google-sourced data stored within Wabot by contacting us at support@wabot.my.
- View which Google API scopes are active for your account in the Wabot dashboard under Settings > Integrations.
- Disconnect individual Google services without affecting other connected integrations.
